Labex Futurs urbains
The Futurs Urbains project, labeled a "Laboratory of Excellence" in 2010, has had its duration extended by five years following a positive evaluation by an international jury in 2018. LABEX Futurs Urbains, a space dedicated to understanding urban complexity, integrates approaches to planning, architecture, the environment and transport to keep pace with the dynamic evolution of cities. With 13 Transversal Groups and an International Research Network, the Labex fosters cooperation between researchers, academic interaction, scientific debate, stable collaborations, and the broadening of multidisciplinary expertise capacities, involving over 300 researchers and academics.

Downscaling Energy
How are territories coping with reduced energy capacity? Five researchers presented their work at the Downscaling Energy study day organized at the agency by the Labex Futurs Urbains’ City and Energy working group. Research topics included Beirut, the impact of Hurricane Irma on the French island of Saint-Denis, resource management in the Middle Ages, the 1973 oil crash and the current environmental crisis.
