Perig Pitrou

Perig Pitrou is a researcher at the CNRS and the Maison Française d'Oxford. He heads the "Anthropology of Life" team at the Laboratoire d'Anthropologie Sociale (CNRS/College de France/EHESS/EPHE) and various research programs (Domestication et fabrication du vivant, La vie à l'oeuvre, Imovie, etc.) (CNRS/PSL). Drawing on his ethnographic investigations of Amerindian societies in Mexico and scientific laboratories, he has developed a comparative framework for analyzing the many biotechnologies that human societies have developed. Since 2022, he has headed the Ville métabolisme chair, which links the PCA-STREAM agency with the Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL).

City-Metabolism Chair

Périg Pitrou is an anthropologist at the CNRS and head of the “Anthropology of Life” team at the Collège de France. He is Scientific Director of the City-Metabolism Chair, which brings together PCA-STREAM and PSL University (Paris Sciences et Lettres). The aim: to identify how interdisciplinary collaborations can help overcome the challenges of building the urban worlds of the future.
