EXPANDING THE URBAN HORIZONS
Our research activity seeks to foster innovation and solve complex challenges through collective intelligence, dialogue, and iteration between disciplines.
OUR RESEARCH TOPICS
We investigate an ever-changing urban realm. The STREAM Lab undertakes in-house research & development projects to explore six key urban matters of our era, shared and disseminated by our in-house learning and training center, the Stream Center.
Architectural transition
This theme explores the sustainability issues raised by the Anthropocene at the scale of buildings and urban environments, in all their material aspects, from design and construction to the uses to which they are put.
Living systems
The term "living systems" implies a relationship and feedback loops between an individual and these systems. This theme covers research on biodiversity and nature-based solutions.
New uses
The "new uses" refer to contemporary societal evolutions: platform economy, work atomization, family recomposition, new mobility, technology and work, new consumer patterns... They are embodied in new programmatic standards (shared spaces, concierges, co-living, co-working, etc.).
New imaginaries
This theme raises the question of the new forms of narrative driving the emergence of a new post-anthropocene aesthetic, moving towards more inclusive models of our relation to the environment.
Data & Design Technology
This theme explores new tools, methods, and technologies for project design. It also deals with the use and understanding of mass data, whether through the identification of data sources or their use via artificial intelligence algorithms.
